D.C. Bound and Back Again

We spent a full week with my sister in "D.C." Actually she is in the beautiful burbs of Bethesda but whatever.  We took a later morning flight out and all in all it went well.  It was not our children causing any sort of scene on the airplane at least.  That deserves a :) if you ask me.
The i pad kept Mimi entertained most of the 5 hour flight.  No Cailou tantrums either.  Diego is the the new Cailou.  Cailou is old news.  Diego now gets crying fits when turned off.   Sigh.

David informed me Abraham liked the tween shows on Nickelodeon????  He also was good at flirting with the cutest flight attendant on the way out.  David would so have a great little wing man to help him get girls, you know if he was looking.

We did one or two touristy things while out there.  One was a trip to the natural history museum which I am sure would have been awesome had my children been... um.... let's say 3 years older and not so lazy about walking around a museum.  We had one stroller and both insisted if the other was in the stroller they must be held.  The museum didn't last long but we got a couple pictures as evidence of our effort.

All the other days. We hung out.  We walked dogs.  A lot of them.  We went to parks.  We ate too many caramel macaroons.  And yummy food.
This rocked!  Mimi watched an entire movie in bed with me.  My kind of girl.  Abe joined up for about 20 minutes.  Then he got the boot for disturbing the peace.  We watched Shrek 2.
Chilling on the front porch.
This was their favorite activity.  Getting in Aunt Amy and Uncle Corey's enormous bath tub and swimming around.

This girl insisted in walking Hershey herself.  Luckily Hershey is 13 years old and doesn't move too quick these days.  Perfect for the 3 year old that moves at her own pace.

All in all a wonderful trip.  Can't wait to go back.  And because Amy is having A GIRL!!! this fall Mimi and I will be out for the baby shower and then the birth.  Woo hoo!  And next year the four of us girls will be on our first annual GIRLS TRIP!  Yeah!

What is with the lay out of this stupid blogger!!! GRRRR.  I am just not fixing it.
